Guess who showed up at my door with this cute and creative idea? Yes, it was MY visiting teacher! She sure surprised me, BUT, I think I surprised her even more with my house that was a total disaster. I was working on a million projects, wearing an apron with food all over it. I’m pretty sure every cupboard was covered with stuff, ironing board out, and table covered with a bazillion things. Despite my total mess, she still hugged me as she left as she always does. I’m so grateful for her cheerful presence. She is just a delight in every way. I have loved her from the very first day I met her. We being the creative people ourselves, we kinda loved this A LOT! I was so excited to clean up all the things I was busy working on, just to place that cute Turkey in his designated spot, until we get to gobbled him right up. I just wanted to show off Judy’s lovely work to you. Hopefully you will appreciate this as much as I did. This would be such a perfect center piece for your Thanksgiving Day table. I can see a bunch of fruit placed all around it and a few leaves. Have you seen those mini pineapples at the grocery store? You could make smaller Turkey’s and put them on the kids tables. Oh, I’m so excited to create some little baby Turkey’s too! Visiting teaching at it’s finest, such a cute idea!
Give thanks in style! Here are just a few ideas for setting your lovely table to greet the guests as they come dine with you for Thanksgiving. We pulled out our old decorations and they just seemed to blah. SO, we headed out shopping for something shiny and sparkly. We found these cute metallic pumpkins at Ross. Don’t they just brightened everything up? After purchasing these, we spotted some cute one’s at Target also. The gold utensils we found at Target on the party aisle. They caught our eye right off the bat, and besides no washing the silverware after you eat. We just needed some holders to place our fancy gold silverware in…. Jo-Ann’s! A favorite area we always like to stop at there is, Ms. Sparkle and Co. The box bins always have something we can use for $1.99, and it’s like the dollar section at Target, only crafts.
Whether using paper plates or real dishes, layering dishes always gives your table such a great effect. You can always spice up your table with some fun printed napkins, and purchasing some real pumpkins, either white or orange, will give a great harvest feel. Oh, don’t forget some real cranberries placed in clear vases, tied up with a ribbon or jute around it. We painted these cute clothes pins gold and attached this “Give Thanks” free printable to jazz up your table. The possibilities are endless what you choose to do with it! Frame it, paint the edges, print it out in any color of your choice, write your guests names on it, or glue it to anything your heart desires.
After all the work you put into the cooking and decorating, don’t forget to capture the day with some photos to remember. Thanksgiving only comes around once a year, so ENJOY, and think of the many things that you are truly thankful for. Thanks friends for stopping by, and HAPPY THANKSGIVING to each of you!
